ChocolateHeader700wide1.2

Sunday April 3, 2016
11:00am to 4:00pm

An event for all ages. Vendors focusing on chocolate edibles, demonstrations and many other interesting activities.

Mars Chocolate History Ambassadors will be onsite to demonstrate the historical bean-to-beverage story of 18th-century chocolate using authentic tools including cocoa pods, cocoa beans and nibs, a hot stone metate, winnowing baskets, chocolate drink pots and stirrers throughout the day. Observers will be able to touch, taste, smell, and experience chocolate as it was enjoyed in early America at every demonstration by sampling AMERICAN HERITAGE® Chocolate drink.

AMERICAN HERITAGE® Chocolate is an authentic historic chocolate recipe developed by Mars Chocolate North America.

Event Review by Susan Hayes

Susan Hayesposted to Event Venues San Diego
  • Love having our event on the Berkeley, such a pretty venue and the staff are just wonderful to work with. The set up for a silent auction is so well figured out, and Jim Davis is really knowledgeable about how to arrange things. The catering staff are really professional, and we got great value for our money with the food. Everyone is really dedicated to making the event a success.
    Thank you Susan!

Wedding Review by Sarah Castille Wyer

I had a December wedding on the Berkeley and could not have been happier!  It was more beautiful than I imagined it could be and all of my guests had a great time.  I was approached multiple times by wedding guests with praise concerning my choice of venue.  The Berkeley is gorgeous in the day, at night, in any light.  The whole experience was magical and I will never forget the Berkeley or the wonderful coordinator, Jim, who made my big day much less stressful.  Thank you very much. ♥  –Sarah Castille Wyer

Client Review by Nicki Deines

Hi, Jim,
Mathew and I wanted to thank you again! We had an absolutely perfect night and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves (even with the hiccup regarding Dominic). The Berkeley looked beautiful and we couldn’t be happier!  Everyone loved the food and said it was one of the best weddings they had been to. So hats off to you!
We will be sure to spread the word about you and The Berkeley!
Are there any loose ends we need to tie up? Anything that might have been left behind?

Thanks!

Catch a Glimpse of a Berkeley Party

Now that you’ve had a sneak peak at a party on the Star of India, I’d like to give you the insider’s guide to the Berkeley Ferryboat.  She is one of our most popular party venues and never disappoints!

Bar on the Berkeley For starters, the Berkeley has a built-in bar that is perfect for refreshments for any party.

Berkeley Ferryboat Venue with Dance FloorIn front of the bar is a large dance floor that can be used for dancing, mingling, or even be transformed into a seating area for larger dinners or receptions.

Lounge on the Berkeley FerryboatThe East and West Decks can be converted into posh lounge areas for corporate events or mixers.  The downtown skyline compliments evening events on the East Deck, and the waterfront views are spectacular off the West Deck.

Catering and Tables at Event VenuesOur preferred caterers, San Diego Catering Company and Continental Catering, can create the perfect table setting for any theme and their concoctions are admired all over San Diego.

Berkeley Ferryboat Photo OpsFinally, any event aboard the Berkeley Ferryboat comes with fun and memorable photo ops!

Hope you enjoyed the tour–check back soon for a look at another one of our historic ships.

Fair winds,

Erica Geary
