San Diego Wedding Venues

The Star of India is a San Diego icon–everyone recognizes it.  A lot of us spent the night aboard it as kids during an educational overnight program, or attended a friend’s birthday party or a corporate event.

Star of India Event Venues

The Star of India is an exciting and unique event venue.  Walking along the Embarcadero, you’ve seen her sails and you’ve heard our pirates running about but you may not know how beautiful she can be for weddings!

We do specialty weddings and receptions ranging from nautical, tropical, island beach, and romantic, to anything else you can think of!  Want more details?  Call us at 619-234-9153 ext 102.

Interested in Learning Celestial Navigation?

Celestial Navigation

Have you ever wondered how explorers ever navigated the seas before GPS or smartphones?  It was difficult enough reading maps or following landmarks while driving before phones began dictating step-by-step directions.

Now imagine being a part of an expedition in say 1542.  How would you have known where to go?  What signs or landmarks existed to guide you?

Intrigued?  Then you will love our 12 week course on Celestial Navigation.  Director Ray Ashley, will be guiding a course on the Berkeley Ferryboat Tuesday nights, from April 9th-June 25th.  The course is $300 and includes all materials and even a sail aboard tall ship Californian to practice skills learned during the class.

Check out our website for more information.
