Event Venues San Diego

I can’t believe how quickly time passes.  Yesterday was already Opening Day again—Go Padres!  Today is Good Friday and summer is right around the corner!

To kick off the weekend, I thought I’d include some of my favorite memories and events from the past few months here at the museum.

Sailing on the Californian has been by far the most exhilarating adventure I have experienced here.  Captain Chris even trusted me at the helm!   It was refreshing being out in the San Diego Bay and Pacific Ocean!  I would highly recommend it to anyone.  Bring a friend, sweetheart, or rock it solo—it’s worth every penny and you’ll have plenty of good company.  The crew is very friendly and has lots of great information to share about the ship!

The Pilot boat ride was also a winner in my book—a 45-minute guided tour around the Bay in beautiful San Diego sunshine—no complaints here.  It’s just $3 once you purchase admission to the museum.  I learned a lot about the history of the Bay and the Navy in San Diego.

A docent-guided tour of the USS Dolphin proved to be entertaining and informational.  Just remember it’s a tight space—so I would not recommend it if you have claustrophobia.  It is definitely a must-see though.

A few weeks ago I took a tour of the San Salvador Build Site and chatted with guests at a private event we hosted.  Seeing the progress of the replica Spanish galleon has been fun and has really brought history to life for me.  Go check it out if you get a chance—or you can even volunteer to help out with construction.

What better way to wrap things up then with a shout out to weddings!  I have greatly enjoyed getting to meet brides, grooms, families, and friends and partake in their special celebrations with wedding ceremonies and receptions on our various boats.
